15 NEW Battlefield 1 Features You NEED To Know - Battlefield 1 New Features List and Explanation

The much anticipated Battlefield 1 is coming to your gaming platforms soon. This game aims to be the best in the First Person Shooter Genre with is World War 1 gameplay. So I thought we would count down the 15 New features that are in Battlefield 1 that you need to know. Also, with only under 2 months till the games release what else should I do because I am so god damn hyped for the release. Therefore, I hope that you get as hyped as I am for this game after reading this list.
(The list is in no particular order)

15. Horse Combat

Within World War 1 engine powered vehicles may not be the best choice of transport for most situations. This is where the horses come into play. They appear to be their own vehicle class and these 4 legged animals seem to be easy to control and small enough to dodge the enemy rounds that a group of soldiers are trying to spray you down with. Well easier to control and better at dodging than at tank or truck. On top of this, they have a scimitar and a rifle for both close and longer range engagements.

14. Elite Classes

As like previous Battlefield games, there are a variety of classes you can choose from. However, the Elite Classes seem to pack the most punch which will sway the battle in your favor. They have an array of devastating weaponry that can change the outcome of any battle. This class is designed as the run and gun style as you run in wielding flamethrowers and massive machine guns that are sure to push your enemies back.

13. Melee Combat

EA has focused more on the modern time's combat in their previous Battlefield games meaning that there was a heavy focus on automatic guns and less so on melee attacks. This has all changed with their step back in time because in World War 1 automatic guns were just coming into existence meaning it was more a rarity on the battlefield instead of a necessity like it is in modern times. Because of this, the combat has become more brutal with the ability to crush someone's head with a small bit of wood that has some spikes. In this game, if you have a personal vendetta against an enemy then you can make sure that it is for filled properly by ripping their body apart to make confetti.

12. Planes

Every time you see a plan spawn in a Battlefield game you feel the urge to jump in a start flying around. This is because in previous games it was very hard to be taken down once you were in the skys. Really the only way you were going to die was if you were brought down by another plane. Battlefield 1 is changing all of this because tanks and other ground vehicles are much more able to take down planes now. This means that you shouldn't start up that plane unless you know what you are doing in the sky.

11. Customizing Classes

Classes from previous EA titles seem to make a triumphant return by managing and adjusting your classes appears to be much more streamlined than the previous games. This seems to be a UI (User Interface) adjustment that has made this change, but, many long time Battlefield fans, like myself, will be pleased to hear that you can change you class around then jump right back into the action faster than ever.

10. Flamethrower And Incendiary Grenades

The new flamethrower adds an interesting twist to the battle. It has a very short range, but, if any enemies are caught up in the flames then they won't be around for much longer. This doesn't just put a stop to your enemies because it can be used to interact with the environment. For example, if you wanted to burn down a house that was stopping your team progression through the map then you could. Or if you wanted to stop certain enemies camping in a building then you could with your trusty flamethrower. To make the short range of the weapon less of a disadvantage to the player you get more health when you pick it up.

9. Dynamic Weather

In past Battlefield games, there has been a lot of destruction. The map would change and could be manipulated as you went through the battle. Well, Battlefield 1 adds changing the weather to the already enormous amount of destruction on the maps. For example, you could be making a push for the objective that could win you the game when a sandstorm starts to intervene in your plans. This will make it much harder, near impossible, to see so you will have to change up your attack tactics.

8. Artillery Trucks Have Sniper Rifle Like Weapons

The new artillery trucks have been set up and appear to be one of the game best new weapons. This vehicle can manoeuvre the map pretty fast, however, the most important thing is the artillery that it holds around it. This cannon/sniper rifle style combination weapon can obliterate your enemies and make a meal of most oncoming vehicles.

7. Set In An Alternate History of World War 1

Battlefield games have always had action packed high-octane campaigns and Battlefield 1 is no exception. However, this has a lot more on the line. This is because World War 1 was one of the deadliest conflicts of all time. So hopefully the game can make a focus on the horrors of the war and how bad it was compared to just glorifying the war and making it all about the combat.

6. Tank Combat Changes

Tanks have always been a rolling human destroyer that you have tried you best to avoid when you realise that you are heading straight for one. But, they were a little bit different during the Great War. Hitting the tank in different locations will still deal different amounts of damage to the tank. However, if you hit certain parts of the tank then you can directly affect the tank. Some examples, of this, are you can take out the treads of the tanks and immobilize it or you could take outs its weapons meaning that it becomes just a battering ram with no fire power.

5. Focus On Team Based Objectives

The Battlefield series has always had more of a focus on team-based play rather than one person running at the enemies trying to do a blaze of glory. Battlefield puts a huge emphasis on the team based gameplay as some things are just not possible to do on your own. This means that working in teams and having your teams backs will make winning games a lot easier. Also, the balanced classes and more objective based game modes add to this in a massive way.

4. Trench Warfare

One of the evolutions of warfare that defined World War 1 was trench warfare. It appears that this game recreates the horrors of scrambling between walls of mud and blood as you try to find an enemy that you thought was just in front of you. This will change the way that the maps will be played as you will try to reach and kill an enemy whilst simultaneously dodging the rounds they are firing at you.

3. Class-Based Weapon Effects

All of the classes in Battlefield 1 are balanced very cleverly to have special advantages and disadvantages. For example, the Assault Class is better at close quarters combat while the Medic Class is more designed to be used at a medium range. This will develop all players into very like minded players because the main strategy will become knowing which classes you can beat out depending on where you are and which enemies you have no chance against. Furthermore, this will change the way that you try to approach your enemies.

2. Multiplayer Modes

The old classics like Conquest and Domination will make their well-deserved return to the game. Other game modes have been added as well to add some more flavor and variety to the game. New modes include Operations which is a capture based mode where you have to take the majority of the map which will utilise the trench warfare that was created in World War 1.

1. Trains

In one of the maps that have been shown off by EA which I think is the Sinai Desert. There is a  train that follows a set path in the across the maps. The primary objective that was set was to secure the train. This might sound like a simple task that pro-gamers could do blindfolded whilst eating dinner this is definitely easier said than done! This train has tons of soul destroying weaponry and will act like a battering ram if anything gets in its way.
