Official Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - "Long Live the Captain" In-Game Cinematic Released By Activision - It's Like a Movie

Official Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare - "Long Live the Captain" in-Game cinematic released by Activision on the official Call of Duty YouTube Account. The description of this cinematic is as follows.

"After brutal SetDef attacks leave SATO forces devastated, Lt. Reyes is suddenly field-promoted to Captain as the highest-ranking officer remaining aboard the UNSA Retribution."

This cinematic will be appearing in the campaign version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Which means that long-time Call of Duty fans are starting to get very excited about seeing this footage. Some of the things that make this cinematic so good are:
  • The Great Acting withing the cinematic.
  • The Amazing Visuals that have been created giving a very life-like feel to the cinematic.
  • The acting leads to Real Emotion that makes the cinematic more intense and more real.
  • The Sounds are Very Immersive  with the background music and the diegetic sounds they all work together to make a more immersive feel to the cinematic.
So how are all of these put together to make this one of the best cinematics for the Call of Duty Franchise? Well because of the use of motion capture to create this cinematic it means that all of the characters have a human feeling. This is because not only is the body of the actor being motion captured but, the facial expression is being captured as well to make the cinematic look even better.

On the other hand, there is a big issue with this cinematic being in the game. This issue is that the cinematic is not rendered in the game itself meaning that the graphical power that is in the cutscene could not be in the game itself which is very misleading for the players. Additionally, this can cause a break in the immersion for the player if they have to keep jumping from cutscenes to the gameplay. Furthermore, some people in the Call of Duty Community are comparing pre-rendered cutscenes to pre-rendered trailers meaning that Activision is just straight up lying to the players about the quality of the game (both in graphical quality and gameplay quality).

Overall, I think this cinematic looks amazing, sounds amazing and it looks to bode well for the campaign of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. Thanks very much for reading this post and I hope that you found it useful.
