Rockstar Stopping the Sale of Grand Theft Auto 5 Online Modded Accounts - You can't Transfer Account from Last-Gen to Current-Gen ANYMORE - Grand Theft Auto Online Feature Removed

It seems that Rockstar is now cracking down very heavily on modded or hack Grand Theft Auto Online accounts. They are mainly cracking down on people who are selling these accounts. Also, by cracking down on this Rockstar has removed one of the main GTA Online features that allowed a player to continue where they left off when changing the generation of their console.

Ok then, but, where were people selling modded accounts. If you are like me then you had no idea that people could even sell modded accounts. Well, lots of people sell these modded accounts on the social media platform Instagram. Someone has obtained an email relating to this issue whether the email was sent directly to him or he obtained it some other way I am not sure. The email can be seen below. As you can see this email is from Take2Games which is the parent company of Rockstar and the trademark is Grand Theft Auto.
Now this is all very interesting, however, I want to make sure you guys know that Rockstar appears to be actively going after people that are selling modded accounts or advertising the sale of modded accounts. This means that if you have a modded account Rockstar aren't looking for you YET! I say yet because we all know that if you have a modded GTA Online account you will probably get banned at some point. Therefore, at this current point in time Rockstar is not actively looking for modded account they are only looking for the sale of modded accounts.

So what feature has Rockstar removed that is stopping people from being able to make and sell modded accounts in Grand Theft Auto 5 Online. Well, the feature is transferring your account from last-generation consoles to current-generation consoles. So that is an account that was created on the Xbox 360 or PS3 and transferring it to either the Xbox One, PS4 or PC. So this feature is still in the game, but, Rockstar has put a massive lock on it and disabled it meaning that most users cannot use it. So how does this affect selling modded accounts? Well, I assume that the modded accounts are created either on the last-generation platforms then transferred over to current-generation of they are created through the transferring process possibly using an exploit of a hack.

On top of this, Rockstar has updated their support page to say what you can see below. So this means that the sale of modded accounts is going to basically fully stop or at least that is what Rockstar is hoping will happen. Now how do we know that Rockstar is doing this to stop the sale of modded accounts? Well is seems like too much of a coincidence for them to send that email and disabling the transferring of accounts to not be a way of cracking down on the sale of modded accounts.

What does this mean for players? If you need to transfer an account it seems that you will not be able to do so. Also, if you try to transfer an account then you will see this alert message pop up on your screen (as seen below).

Lets, say that you have a legit Grand Theft Auto Online account that you have been using on last-generation and you have not hacked or modded the account and you want to transfer it over to your new PC, Xbox One or PS4 well you won't be able to. However, if you contact Rockstar support and ask about a transfer and tell them that the account is legit. They will most likely check your account and you may be allowed to transfer your account over to the current-generation hardware.

Why are Rockstar trying to stop the sale of modded accounts? Well, it basically comes down to MONEY!! At the end of the day, the modder who is selling the accounts is making money from Rockstar's intellectual property and they are creating the bad accounts that go into the game. Also, this stops Rockstar making money because it means that players don't have to buy shark cards/microtransactions to get money so Rockstar loose out. Finally, because Rockstar owns the IP/trademark of the game it means that they have the legal right to stop the sale of the modded accounts.
